Hi, I'm Mark Koester, I'm a web developer

I became interested in programming in high school after reading some books on Java and trying a few basic projects. I decided I wanted to do programming as a career and went to the University of Michigan, where I earned a bachelor's degree in computer science.

Although my early professional experience involved primarily Java and C++ programming, I always found myself doing random web development projects in my free time. I enjoyed the JavaScript ecosystem and noticed how the TypeScript code I wrote was much more expressive and safer due to its rich type system.

My first full-time job was at Ford Motor Company writing software to run on vehicles, but I eventually transferred to a web development team where I could work on web development projects full time.
